During the month of March, the Cat Club was forced to close for the month.
This was during a time when the City of San Francisco was going around to various
South of Market nightclubs - raiding and busting them for seemingly minor infractions.
At any rate, Cat Club owner Tony Caracci agreed to allow us to take 1984 over to the
Stud Bar (about a block away). We felt that a month was just too long to keep folks away
from their 80's music. We struck up a deal with Stud owner Michael McElhaney
and hosted 1984 at the Stud for 3 weeks. It was a tight squeeze, but was still a
fun event. We rented extra sound and were able to bring over some of the Cat Club
security for the event.
